DRAM Filtration

Heavy metal removal from effluent

Finding an efficient, cost-effective solution to treating heavy metal contamination in effluent water is a growing concern for the distillery industry.

DRAM Filtration is a bespoke treatment system, designed to solve the challenges associated with heavy metals in wastewater, while meeting effluent guidelines, maintaining environmental compliance, and improving operational efficiency.

The flexible system can be operated in conjunction with pre-existing infrastructure, or as a stand-alone unit. As DRAM operates passively, there are minimal power requirements, low operating costs and associated emissions are diminished.

The results of using DRAM can be seen within as little as 5 minutes of exposure.

Applicable SDGs

How does DRAM Filtration work?

  • DRAM combines microbial action with various forms of sorption to provide treatment to a wide range of contaminants.
  • The technology utilises organic by-products as filter media, giving the system a light carbon footprint.
  • The gravity fed system can filter water at a rate of 1m3/hr.
  • Water is cleaned and conditioned and can be discharged to the environment, meeting strict regulations.
