A Year in Review

The Future is Green

There is no doubt about it, 2020 has been a pivotal year for businesses all around the globe. But at SEM, we don’t shy away from challenges, quite the opposite. We embrace them. We live and breathe them and come out stronger as an end result. Apart from being a great challenge, 2020 also gave us many important lessons, but two stand out the most – the lesson of focus and the lesson of preparedness. In the times of pandemic, focusing on things that we can control and have a positive impact on became one of our key missions. We also put stronger focus on preparing the business for the future and adapting our operations to the market demands. Pivoting into growth in the times of a global pandemic whilst financial markets are down has been a challenging feat, but that’s what SEM is all about, embracing challenges and disrupting the norm.

With this growth, we were able to expand our operations and work towards our mission. In 2020, our hard work and persistence brought two high scale and high value projects, allowing us to do what we do best – treating waste and water on-site. Not forgetting the generation of by-products, allowing for their further re-use within the operation whilst reducing the processes overall carbon footprint. Of course, to ensure the efficient delivery of such projects, we could not do this without the hard work and determination of all of our existing and new employees. We are proud to have taken this unprecedented year in our stride, creating new opportunities whilst delivering for our environment.

As we look to 2021, we aim to build on all of the great work that we have laid the foundations for this year by expanding our new and upcoming technologies on an international level. More often than not, we are developing new innovation behind the scenes to deal with multiple age-old challenges that different sectors face. We’re working hard to help other businesses fulfil their potential, while minimising the impact on our environment. With this in mind, we will move into a significant testing phase of our pilot systems with the look to commercialisation in the near future. It is an exciting time for all of us here at SEM and we can’t wait for you to be a part of it!
