PLUTUS Technology

Our PLUTUS technology is designed to tackle various challenges that go hand in hand with the Aquaculture industry, whilst contributing to the evolution of a circular economy. The utilisation of its co-products is an important, cleaner production opportunity for the industry, as it can potentially generate additional revenue from by-products, as well as reduce handling costs and associated emissions. PLUTUS aims to increase revenue streams by generating high value by-products from fish waste that can be sold back into the market or re-used in the fish farming process.

How does it work?

PLUTUS is an innovative system that processes fish waste to remove volatile contaminants and de-water waste, whilst optimising valuable by-products. The water fraction is also treated, allowing for safe environmental discharge and/or potentially, reusable water. The innovative technology is designed to be more energy efficient than other available technologies whilst also reducing carbon emissions and tankers on our roads.

The end products

Our PLUTUS technology is designed to be used on-site, to separate fish waste into three categories – recovered solids, oils and water. The solid and oil fractions can be repurposed into products of high market value.

Category 2

Category 2 waste is classed as fish or aquatic material that have died from scenarios such as notifiable diseases or for infection control purposes. In this instance, PLUTUS can process this category of waste,recover the solids and create a natural fertiliser, which can be sold back into the local market for soil improvement. The recovered oils can be transformed into biodiesel that can be either acquired by fish farms to fuel vessels or sold on for further purposes such as public transportation.

Category 3

Category 3 material includes aquatic animals, and parts of such animals, which did not show any signs of disease communicable to living organisms and animal by-products from aquatic animals originating from establishments or plants manufacturing products for human consumption. Here, the end products of the PLUTUS process include food grade protein and high-grade omega oils.

All in all, the PLUTUS process promotes responsible fishery practices, encouraging growth in sustainable aquaculture by drastically reducing waste and contributing to economic growth and food security.
